Stone rod excavated from a pit grave of Earthwork Burial Circle No. 4 (photographed in 2013)

This stone rod is a funeral item buried in a grave that was discovered from the northern outer rim of Earthwork Burial Circle No. 4 in June 1965. Engravings are seen on both ends. The rod made of shale is 57 cm long, weighs 710 g, and has been designated a tangible cultural property by Chitose City.
